Refurbished iPads Now Available from Apple

Good news if you’re looking to buy an iPad around now.  Apple has started selling some refurb iPads in their online store.  They only list the Wi-Fi models at the moment – and each of them is priced at $50 below the standard cost for a new model.

I know some people are put off by the idea of a refurbished model, but I think in some ways they’re  a safer bet than a typical new model.  My first iPhone back in ‘07 was a refurb and it’s still around (though no longer in use as a phone).

Here’s a little detail on how Apple handles their refurb models:

We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.
All refurbished iPad models also include a brand new battery and outer shell.

Apple’s page for these says supply is limited, so you may want to hurry if you’re on the lookout for a slightly discounted iPad.  Check out the refurb deals here:

  1. It kills me. I've been holding off, waiting for the year to end so I can see what the 2nd revision will be like…I figured if it isn't THAT spectacular, I could just buy a 1st gen at a discounted price. It is so hard to be good…

    1. Yikes – that is tough. It does look more and more like a new iPad model will be coming by early next year now.
