There Are Now More than 40,000 Native iPad Apps

Alongside the release of iOS 4.2 at the beginning of this week, Apple announced a few iOS and App Store statistics. A couple that stood out for me:

— There are now over 125 million iOS users around the world – a huge reach for iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads

— There are more than 40,000 native iPad apps

I expect the number of iPad apps will easily surpass 100,000 in 2011 – with more developers adapting their apps for the tablet format, newspaper and magazine titles mushrooming once there is a proper subscription model, and the continuing success of the iPad itself.

Now if someone, anyone, could just make even one decent blogging app for the iPad.
