It’s been reported today that USA Today has announced plans to have an iPad version ready for iPad launch day:
USA Today said it plans to have software ready to support Apple Computer Inc.’s iPad e-reader when the device hits the streets April 3. … USA Today showed participants attending the 2010 E-reader Symposium at the Donald W. Reynolds Institute at the University of Missouri in Columbia a demonstration of what the paper will look like on the iPad.
It sounds like you can add USA Today to the list of publications that are very keen to get on the iPad:
USAToday.com managing editor Chuck Rose said developing an app for the gadget has been a fast-moving project for the paper.
"When Steve Jobs made the iPad announcement, [USA Today Publisher David Hunke] said we want to be in the store on the day of launch," Rose said.
I’ve never been a big fan of USA Today – too ‘light’ in many ways for my tastes, but I can see it being very striking looking on the iPad. Who knows – maybe they’ll even throw in some fun, interactive elements.
Thanks to our reader Peter for the heads-up on this one!
