2011 – Year of the Tablet Copycats Coming Along Nicely

2011YearoftheCopycats

At the iPad 2 announcement event back in March, Steve Jobs showed a slide that referred to 2011 as ‘Year of the copycats’. It looks like progress on that them is moving along nicely.

As Michael Mulvey of the Daily Exhaust points out, despite all the other naming possibilities that are out there and all the jokes made about the iPad name when it was unveiled, so far this year we’ve already got:

MSI WindPad

Viewsonic ViewPad

HP TouchPad

LG Optimus Pad

Asus Padfone

Great starting point when they can’t even refrain from copying Apple on the name of their devices.

  1. Hello,

There is a flood of tablets coming from china as well .
They look exactly like the ipad and are more than half the price.
Just the only thing is that you cannot upgrade the os and most is in Chinese .

I’d rather stick to the original and that would be the iPad.

    Kind regards,
