The clever guys over at Boy Genius Report have got a good post up today detailing some of the latest iPad 2 rumors from DigiTimes. There’s talk about which connectivity options it will have and about when shipping to Apple will begin, as we’ve seen a lot of over the last few weeks. More interestingly, there is BGR’s rundown of what they feel are the most solid iPad 2 rumors so far:

  • Slightly thinner bezel
  • Slightly thinner body, tapered edges, flat back
  • Front and rear cameras
  • Better anti-smudge and anti-glare screen
  • Possibly a dual core 1GHz CPU
  • 512MB of RAM
  • Redesigned rear speaker, volume buttons
  • Verizon CDMA unit

If that list turns out to be mostly accurate, I’d be mostly happy. I’d definitely like to see a dual-core processor and the two cameras. I also like the idea of a flat back and love the idea of a better anti-smudge and anti-glare screen. The 512MB of RAM would be disappointing – I’d like to see 1GB.

What do you all think of the ‘solid rumor’ list? If it proves mostly true, would you be happy / interested in getting the next gen iPad?

  1. I’ve been working on with a company developing a 3D video compression for iPAD, I believe they have two cameras on the front and a screen with autostereoscopic retina display. Should be pretty cool.
