Is There Already a Jailbreak for the iPad?

Share this:

Geohot – the boy wonder of the iPhone jailbreak an unlock community and creator of the popular blackra1n jailbreak method – has posted a video demo of a new untethered jailbreak (i.e one with no need to re-jaibreak after each reboot) that will work on all latest model iPhone and iPod Touches.

Here’s the very exciting part in relation to the iPad though:

The jailbreak is all software based, and is as simple to use as blackra1n. It is completely untethered, works on all current tethered models(ipt2, 3gs, ipt3), and will probably work on iPad too.

Geohot thinks this latest jailbreak will probably work for the iPad too.  Obviously that is no guarantee, but for as long as I can remember following Geohot’s efforts, he doesn’t make a lot of empty boasts.  He seems be able to walk the walk far more often than not.

No word on a possible release date for this new jailbreak yet, but how sweet would that be to see the iPad jailbroken on Day 1?
