Reports at both Apple Insider and BGR today detail plausible rumors that Apple will launch iOS 5 in early October.
BGR has it from ‘a trusted source’ that beta 8 for iOS 5 will be released to developers this Friday (9/16) and a Gold Master build on or around September 23.
Apple Insider has even more specific information, which indicates release of iOS 5 on or around October 10:
Apple has reportedly informed its AppleCare division to expect an influx of iOS-related inquiries from customers beginning Monday, Oct. 10, perhaps signaling when the company plans to release iOS 5 to existing device owners.
Apple has stated that iOS 5 will be released this fall, and now as rumors heat up it looks like it’s really not far off.
iOS 5 brings a slew of cool new features to the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch – over-the-air OS updates, Wi-Fi sync, AirPlay Mirroring, Notification Center, the new iMessage app, Twitter integration, improvements to Photos, Mail, Calendar, and Safari apps, and multitasking gestures just to name a few.
Here’s hoping these latest rumors prove true and the iOS 5 release is just a few weeks away.
