Countdown to iPad – A Man’s Manual (Use Case 5)

A Man's Manual
A Man's Manual

It is hard to conceive of a world in which men read manuals or ask for directions. The birth of the iPad brings us much closer to such a world. In my first Countdown to iPad post, The Big TomTom, we caught a glimpse into a place where such crazy notions are a bit less crazy.

It shouldn’t take long for car companies, boat builders and other such toy makers to discover that manuals on the iPad can deliver rich and up-to-date content. Content that will finally make it into a man’s hands and ultimately into his mind!

We have many iPad use case scenarios queued up, but could always use more. Please comment and share your iPad ideas below.

  1. Ha, this rocks. I spent a month over the winter downloading (or scanning) all my tool, electronics, etc. manuals in PDF format. So yeah, I'm there with interactive approach. How about 3D exploding graphics that explain the maintenance or replacement of parts? How about interactive woodworking plans in 3D (rather than just the static exploded view you now get).

    1. I was with you right up to the exploding part. I already have too many projects go that way! :) I love the 3d idea. They already have them for making the car why not share them with us so we can take care of it?
