iPad: On the move

iPad: On the move

Overnight package services like FedEx and UPS have long been leaders in leveraging technology to their advantage. GPS enabled trucks, route planning, bar coding, handheld scanners and electronic signatures are the hallmarks of high-tech shipping.

The introduction of iPad takes things to the next level. Replacing the truck GPS… iPad gets driver and package to the door, but tech assisted navigation doesn’t stop there. Loaded with floor plans and images of recipients, drivers can easily negotiate office buildings and get the package to the right person. The scanner in the ruggedized case verifies the package, the image verifies the signer and onscreen signatures are compared in real-time to John Hancocks on file.
