Taking in the morning paper
It’s time to welcome iPad into our homes and invite it to breakfast. iPad is the new newspaper. As Steve Jobs said at the iPad launch, “The iPad gives a much more intimate feel than a laptop, and is much more capable than a smart phone.” Mr. Jobs is right. The iPad’s form factor and elegant interface makes it a near perfect replacement for the daily newspaper. Now if we can just get Apple to allow crinkly-newsprint sounds to be triggered by the accelerometer.
iPad - fit for the table, not for the cage
Countdown to iPad Series – There are countless articles and posts citing what the iPad isn’t or won’t be good at. We think they are wrong. Join us as we celebrate the countdown to iPad’s debut by posting a daily iPad use case. Think of the possibilities!

I love reading the news. Just not from a newspaper or newspaper app. I prefer a news reader. I want to read topics, not a single specific editorial point of view. NetNewsReader on the iPod Touch is my favourite app and I expect it will be also on the iPad.
Do you mean NetNewsWire? I'm also a big fan of RSS readers, but I still like both – aggregators and individual publications.
I just hope publications don't set their prices at silly levels and make it hard to want to subscribe to them. Maybe a few premium titles can get away with big ticket subscription fees, but I hope loads of then aren't going to go that way.
Agreed. If they push it too far, this new opportunity will backfire.
