OK, call me superficial and shallow – but after a good while of tending to more serious matters on the brand new baby iPad, I suddenly realized I had an urgent need to ‘make it mine’.

So I grabbed the free Cool Wallpapers for iPad app, browsed around briefly, and chose this one as my first iPad wallpaper.  Applied it to both home screens and lock screen.

The app has over 500 iPad wallpapers – including lots of animal, nature, and abstract images – pretty typical walls stuff, but quite nice ones I think.

You can find Cool Wallpapers for iPad in the App Store now – and it’s free.

What are your iPad wallpapers looking like?

Here's the thing with iPad wallpapers – you need to have one that will handle rotation well, so landscape ones seem to work out best so far.

I ended up with the Snow Leopard (with blood) as my lock screen and the built in oasis one (so far) for my home screen.

Good point. I nearly always like abstract walls, which luckily work well at both orientations.

Not sure about the choice you made, but I sure am sick of seeing that default wallpaper.
