If you’ve been on the web at all over the last couple of weeks you’ve probably seen at least one of the awesome photos of the Space Shuttle getting a ride on the back of a modified 747 en route to its new retirement home.

And now there’s a retina iPad wallpaper of the Hitchhiking Space Shuttle, courtesy of user chickenwire at the interfacelift.com wallpaper site. When I spotted this one it was a no-brainer for my choice for a weekend iPad wallpaper this week.

The image looks great as an iPad wallpaper on the new iPad’s retina display, on both  the home screen and the lock screen.
