Weekend Wallpapers for iPad: from Wallpapers HD–Wikipedia Pictures of the Year

iPad wallpapers

The developers of Wallpapers HD – Wikipedia Pictures of the Year emailed me this week asking me to take a look at their app. As you know if you’re a regular weekend reader here, I’m a sucker for great iPad wallpapers – and this app is free and looked promising, so I was happy to give it a go.

And I’m glad I did. I have to say these are not my favorite type of wallpapers to use on my iPad, only because I prefer more simple or abstract images – but the app definitely has some spectacular images that many people will love using as wallpapers.

The app has over 300 images that were voted up by the Wikipedia community.

My favorites among the large array of images in the app are those of animals …

RedFox

BlueJay

Landscapes …

RailroadandMoutains

And landmark structures …

GoldenGate

LondonEye

TowerBridge

Here’s an App Store link for Wallpapers HD – Wikipedia Pictures of the Year; it’s a free app.

  1. I give up. App let’s you view the pics but no options to download them or set as wallpaper. Useless as far as I see.
