iPad Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder?

Sea World

I very rarely spend a day without spending good chunks of time with the iPad. My family and I take very rare and very short vacations over recent years and generally my iPad comes along with us and I still work a little during down time.

So today will be a bit of a strange day. My wife and daughter and I are heading to Sea World for a day trip to celebrate the end of the school year. We’re all very psyched up for the trip – especially my daughter who is going for the first time ever. And the iPad will not be coming along, as it’s going to be a long, wet day.

I’m pretty sure Sea World will provide more than enough fun to keep me from missing the iPad. Oh, OK – maybe I’ll miss it a little. I should be back to regular posting on Friday.

  1. Nice! Let me know how it goes, I’ll be hitting up the one in San Diego next week. Trying to decide if I should just leave my phone in the rental house for the day.

    1. We had a fantastic day. I kept my iPhone 4S with me all day. Used the low-tech Ziplock baggie for storage at places we knew we were going to get soaked, kept it in swimsuit front pocket in and out of the bag depending on where we were at. It never got a drop of water on it and took some good pics of dolphins and sea lions etc.

I never even used it at the big Killer Whale show – partly because I knew we were in for a major drenching, and even more so because I just wanted to watch and enjoy and note fuss about getting the right shot.
