The iPad remains at the top of the charts and way ahead of rivals in the latest report on tablet and mobile web usage from Chitika, an online advertising and analytics firm. Their Holiday Mobile Progress Report was based on their traffic statistics for the period from December 20 to December 29 of last year.
It shows that the iPad is still the runaway leader in tablet web usage, with a dominant share of a little over 76%. Amazon is in a distant second place with only a 9.4% share. Microsoft comes in 5th, with a tiny 2.3% share – so apparently ‘real work’ doesn’t require use of that silly internet thing.
It’s also noteworthy that the iPad’s share dropped substantially (nearly 10%) since Chitika’s July 2013 report – when it was at 84.3% – while Google, Microsoft, and Samsung made very slight gains of under 1% each.
