The Original iPad is Now Available from the Apple Certified Refurbished Store

A lot of buyers are locked in to getting all their shopping done over the Thanksgiving weekend. However, good things can still come to those who wait. The sixth-gen iPad is now available refurbished through Apple’s Certified Refurbished Store for $279 for the 32 GB model. That is $50 off the normal retail price.

You may be hesitant to give a refurbished item as a gift, which is understandable. However, not all refurbs are equal, and you would be hard pressed to find any company who delivers more in this regard than Apple. The only devices that re-sell through their store are ones that look and perform like new. You will also get the same one year warranty and opportunity to purchase AppleCare+ that new buyers have. Trust me. You are safe saving this $50 to spend on other gifts.

If you still still can’t see your way to giving a refurbished gift, keep an eye on BestBuy. They have Open Box specials on returns that are is new condition. Their Excellent- Certified and Excellent models will save you $17 and $20 off retail, respectively. As with the Apple Certified Refurnished Store, you still get Apple’s one year warranty and are still eligible for AppleCare+ if you want it.

This isn’t much of a discount, but if BestBuy runs a sale on the iPad between now and Christmas, the Open Box models will get you that much additional savings over the sale price. Thar makes this small price reduction more worthwhile. You can always put that extra money toward a case and/or Apple Pencil.

There are plenty of “Black Friday” apps and sites out there, so I don’t call out too many deals on hardware available that weekend. However, if I see any good ones from here until Christmas, I will be sure to post them, or at least put them out on our Facebook page and Twitter account.
