Three Free Promo Codes for Shakespeare In Bits: Romeo & Juliet iPad Edition To Be Won
Contest Deadline: Friday August 27th – 2:00PM US Central
Here’s another great contest courtesy of the kind folks at Shakespeare in Bits. We’ve got three promo codes for their excellent app that lets students (or just fans of the great man’s work) get to know Shakespeare in bits that are beautifully presented. I did a quick look post about the app just a few days ago, and found it quite impressive.
For details on how easy it is to enter for a chance to win, read on …
How To Win:
*** Just add a comment to this post, making sure to fill out the “email address” field(don’t worry, it won’t be displayed and we won’t use it for any other reason than to contact you if you win) – and you’re in with an entry for our random drawing of winners on Friday. ***
*** For a bonus entry to increase your chance of winning, tell us the Shakespeare play you’d most like to see added to the ‘Shakespeare In Bits’ series of apps for iOS.
That’s it! We’ll draw our two winners on Friday (8/27/10) sometime after 2:00 pm US Central time.
*** Please Note: The promo codes are only available for the US App Store, so you will need a US-based account to make use of them – keep this in mind when entering the contest.
Well this is right up my street. Just got Inkling as I'm fascinated by how the iPad can be integrated into education. I'm thankfully past my student years now but my wife is planning to get into primary teaching and she would be really interested in this. As for another title to add, I suppose Macbeth is the obvious choice with such a good, well known story, but Othello and Merchant of Venice are pretty accessible too. Or Midsummer Nights Dream! Plenty to choose from there!
This is a very exiting way to look into the classics. The software has some clever functions to cahnge between old English phrases and recent ones. I only wish there would be some more interactive visual content.
I would say that Merchant of Venice is a great comedy and has (and is bound) to be redone in modern movie-genre (Leo to join?).
Would love to share this with my high school daughter, who’s reading Shakespeare in class this year. Thanks for the chance win a copy.
Romeo & Juliet is always my favorite Shakespeare's play – a tragedy about two young "star-cross'd lovers.
I'd like to see King Lear in a format like this.
I would like to see Macbeth. The shakespeare in bits apps are great for education.
A great contest for a great app! Good to see Shakespeare updated with technology…
Love to win this one as Shakespeare is all roman to me.
Downloaded the Lite version after reading your initial post and found it to be very impressive. Shakespeare is so much more easily digested when heard and performed, rather than read. My suggestion for another play would be Much Ado About Nothing – a perfect light play to read on warm August nights.
Totally true! I found it more impressive in this format than reading… I wonder if anyone else will agree with us…
This could change how school read or use the school books…
The app looks very interesting for a classroom setting. I'd like to see Julius Caesar like this.
Hamlet or Othello would be great additions.
Oh yes… I agree with Philip….
I think Hamlet will be a great addition to the ipad apps.
This app will be great! It will help the kids in my computer class to start reading more and learn more about the play.
I would love to see Antony and Cleopatra as another app for the iPad!
