Three Free Promo Codes for Terminology for iPad To Be Won

Contest Deadline: Thursday September 9th – 2:00PM US Central

Today we’ve got another cool promo codes contest for you.  Today’s app is Terminology for iPad – a dictionary + thesaurus + lots more app that I reviewed recently and was very impressed with (it is now a fixture on my 2nd home screen).

For details on how easy it is to enter for a chance to win, read on …

How To Win:

*** Just add a comment to this post, making sure to fill out the “email address” field(don’t worry, it won’t be displayed and we won’t use it for any other reason than to contact you if you win) – and you’re in with an entry for our random drawing of winners on Thursday. ***

*** For a bonus entry to increase your chance of winning, tell us about a favorite ‘ten dollar word’ type term that you’ve used in a real world situation.

That’s it! We’ll draw our two winners on Thursday (9/9/10) sometime after 2:00 pm US Central time.

*** Please Note: The promo codes are only available for the US App Store, so you will need a US-based account to make use of them – keep this in mind when entering the contest.

  1. Hi enter me twice! My favorite ten dollar word I use a lot is eschatology. I’m a pastor and eschatology is the study of end time theology. Other ten dollar words I use include: theodicy, hermeneutics, prevenient, sanctification, and boring. Okay, the last one isn’t a teem dollar word, but that’s the reaction I get whenever I use one of those terms!

    1. You are funny!!

Eschatology is the study of end time theology?? Is it true the world is coming to an end next year or 2012….
Oh, yea.. No man knows but the father, so be careful how you answer this question! hhaha! LOL!!

  2. Today i used 'edifying' in a sentence. The sentence even made sense too, which was in itself edifying! Even though i have the Chambers dictionary installed im very taken with the UI of this one, so fingers crossed…

  3. Was just looking for a good dictionary app, so this would come in handy! My ten-dollar word is 'frangible' – capable of being broken; easily broken. I used it to describe the stained glass windows of the building in which I give tours. Am hoping to use my iPad for specialized tours of the building, including showing up-close images of them there frangible stained glass windows!

  4. A classic ‘ten dollar word’ that gets thrown around a lot by our staff is bailiwick, as in, “That’s not my bailiwick.”

  5. One that I always end up mentioning is equivocation; I typically explain to people when they are both using a word in different ways that this is the main cause of their disagreement rather than the other person disagreeing with what they think on the issue.

  6. Hi. My name is Vinny. Thank you so much for putting this contest on. It is such a blessing to know that even if I do NOT win , I am not losing anything and I had fun filling this form out and that is all that matters. Thank you for your precious time. . With highest hopes for all of us , see you on September 9.

  7. Which, if any, of the words are hyperlinked to other word entries? For example, in the illustration above, are "weakening" or "intensity" hyperlinked?

  8. I really need a good dictionary app! This will come in handy!!

As for my "ten-dollar" word it is UPWARD MOBILITY – meaning the capacity or facility for rising to a higher social or economic position.
