AirPods Optimized Charging

Looks Like Optimized Battery Charging for AirPods is Part of Apple’s iOS 14 Beta 1

AirPods Optimized Charging

I finally pulled the trigger yesterday and upgraded to the beta version of iOS 14. I heard from enough people that the sometimes buggy first developer beta was pretty stable this year. I can say the same so far based on one day of use.. It feels much more like iOS 12 than 13 so far. It didn’t even take that much of a toll on my battery life today, which is definitely rare for a first dev beta.

There is a New Firmware For AirPods Pro, But it Wasn’t a Fix For Me

AirPods Pro

Apple released a new firmware version for AirPods Pro this week. They are now at 2D27, up from version 2D15. The new features for AirPods and AirPods Pro, which I covered yesterday, don’t seem to be a part of this new firmware, so it is likely another attempt to fix issues with Active Noise Cancelling and popping noises.

Apple’s Unexpected AirPods Pro Upgrades Point to Bigger and Better Things

I have to hand it to Apple sometimes. People, myself included, get down on them for being greedy, which is occasionally deserved. Some even go as far as accusing them of handicapping devices and taking out batteries just to generate new sales. However, the new upgrades for the AirPods Pro that were revealed yesterday show a different side of the company.

There Are Some New Apple Deals As We Get Close To WWDC

With WWDC only a week away, there are a couple of new Apple deals that have come to light. The first is their new no-interest Apple Card payment plans for Macs, iPads and their accessories, HomePods, Apple TV, AirPods Pro, AirPods and other devices. These new plans, which are similar to one unveiled for the iPhone last year, were rumored last week. While the Apple Watch is strangely absent, these plans should prove to be very popular and get more Apple fans interested in the Apple Card.

My AirPods Pro Have Started Having Some Issues

AirPods Pro

I have been really happy with my AirPods Pro since I got them right at launch. They were the first earbuds I’ve owned with noise cancellation and definitely were a big step up in terms of sound quality, isolation and features. As much as I liked my original AirPods, the Pros are definitely the way to go for listening to music. I’ve also been using them in the car to cut down on road noise and for lots of Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Looks Like Apple’s New AirPods Studio Headphones Will Be Arriving Soon!

Beats Solo Pro

I do enjoy being right.

I don’t have sources and I’m not interested in slinging leaks or becoming the next Jon Prosser. However, I do enjoy making predictions just based on reading the Apple leaves and I love it even more when I get a few right. I won’t claim that happens too often, but I get a few.

So far, my 2020 predictions are looking pretty good. I called full mouse support for iPadOS and a keyboard accessory that would include a trackpad pretty much dead-on in early January. Last week, based on the fact that they were rumored to be in production, I said that Apple’s new AirPods Studio headphones would arrive just before or during the WWDC Keynote. Looks pretty likely that prediction will turn out to be true, as well.

Apple’s Coming AirPods Studio Sound Like a Home Run

Beats Solo Pro

I’ll be honest. I was not expecting Apple’s long-rumored over the ear headphones to be packed with as many features as are now being predicted. I assumed we would basically be getting an over the ear version of the Beats Solo Pro on ear headphones that came out last year. They featured the same Apple H1 chip with Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode features that came with the AirPods Pro. They sound even better, at least in my opinion.

If Target is Correct, it’s Going to be an Expensive March for Apple Fans

Photo Source: Jon Prosser via Twitter

I think we all know an Apple event is coming within the next six weeks at this point. We also have a pretty good idea that one or more iPad Pros is coming at that event, along with a new iPhone. However, there are rumors of other new Apple goodies that may or may not arrive at the same time. Today brings more of these reports from an unlikely source.

Apple May Be Developing a Lite Version of the AirPods Pro

DigiTimes may not bat 1.000 when it comes to Apple rumors, but they do know a fair amount the supply chain and devices that are in testing and development. What they don’t usually have is definitive information or context to go with these leaks and bits of information, but there is usually some amount of truth in their reports. The hard part is figuring out where that truth is.

In one such report this week, DigiTimes predicts that Apple is getting ready to produce a new “lite” version of the extremely popular AirPods Pro in Taiwan.

Review: AirSnap Pro from Twelve South

I’ve kept my AirPods and now my AirPods Pro with me pretty much all the time from the moment I got them until now. (Well, except for that time that I lost my 1st gen buds, but that’s besides the point. And if you’ve owned AirPods, you’ve probably had a similar experience, or at least a scare, right?) That’s really the beauty of such a portable set of wireless earbuds.

One of the downsides of this extreme portability of the AirPods and AirPods Pro is that the case is inevitably going to get beaten up and show some wear. For example, I give you one of my first articles on the AirPods back in May of 2017:

As I feared, the AirPods case is a bit of a scuff magnet

Yep.

AirPods Pro Off To a Roaring Start

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple’s new AirPods Pro have already exceeded projected demand so far since their launch a month ago. So much so, in fact, that production lines have been strained and stock has been low since launch. Debby Wu of Bloomberg goes as far as saying that demand has been “much higher” than originally estimated.
