When Apple had their education event earlier in the year, the new iPad drew solid reviews and the education initiatives were seen as a step in the right direction. However, there also was widespread belief that they wouldn’t be enough to stem the tide of Google’s Chromebooks in the education market. The low cost devices and easy to use tools are a lot to overcome when you are talking about public school systems with tight budgets.
As we get closer to Apple’s Education Event at 10 AM Central on Tuesday, March 27, we are starting to get more details. I think we all already had a pretty good idea that we would see the updated iPad that has been rumored for months. It also seems pretty obvious that we will see a few Apple software updates geared toward education. Then there was the rumored update and price cut to the MacBook Air, as well. Now we have a few more blanks filled in.
