iOS 5 Beta 2 Shows Upcoming Calendar Items in Notification Center

I’m gradually getting a chance to play around with the latest iOS 5 beta release, beta 2 – and finding out about nice little new features along the way, in addition to scary Norah Jones bugs.

One of the cool new features in the new Notification Center is that it now shows recent and upcoming calendar items. So you can just swipe down from the top of the screen from within any app (or on the home screen) to invoke Notification Center and calendar items as well as other notifications.

I don’t see any settings to let you specify what timeframe you’d like to see in Notification Center, but perhaps that will be added in a future beta.

Thanks to the guys at iPad in Canada for the heads-up on this one.

— After restoring your iPad to iOS 5 beta 2, you should do a first sync while connected to your Mac.
