Cool Things: 1Password for iOS Featurecast on New Web Mode

Here’s a nice idea, nicely executed. It’s a ‘featurecast’ from 1Password – as in, a very short, bite-sized screencast showcasing one of the best new features in the excellent 1Password app for iPad and iPhone. This one is on Web Mode, which is great for browsing to sites where you may need to share confidential information. It’s just over a minute long and does a good job of introducing this feature.

Also love 1Password’s definition of a featurecastm – it sounds healthy. :)

Yes, featurecast. Not a podcast, kind of a screencast, but really, a featurecast: I want to use a little more than screenshots and smoke signals to show off some of the great stuff in 1Password, but still keep each video short ‘n sweet ‘n easy to digest. That means low-calorie, high 1Password nutrition, gluten-free.

1Password is the best password manager app for iOS, Mac, and Windows. It’s one of our choices for the Best iPad Apps of 2012 list, and is a repeat selection.

Here’s an App Store link for 1Password; it’s priced at $17.99 and is a universal app designed for both iPad and iPhone.

iPad App Price Drops: 1Password for iPad Down to $7.99

1PasswordforiPad

1Password for iPad, one of the leading password manager apps for the iPad, has had a nice little price drop to start this week – from $9.99 to $7.99.

1Password Pro – which is a universal app for iPad and iPhone – is also currently on sale, reduced from $14.99 to $11.99.

Here are some of the key features of this superb app:

• Securely store your website names and passwords so you never forget them again
• Synchronize everything with 1Password for Mac or Windows (sold separately).
• Automatically log into Web sites to avoid remembering and typing usernames and passwords
• Save important information like credit cards and membership numbers
• Jot down other notes too sensitive for stickies or bar napkins
• Hardware-accelerated AES encryption and Auto-Lock keep your data protected even if your iPad is lost or stolen
• All cryptographic operations are performed using standard iOS libraries to ensure there are no security gaps or backdoors
• Data Backup & Restore option available on Mac, Windows and Linux.

It also offers sync via Dropbox, a feature I like a lot. If you’re a Mac and iOS user, 1Password is by far and away the best choice for keeping all your passwords and sensitive login details safe. It’s easy to use, solid and reliable, and syncs beautifully between all your devices.

1Password for Windows ‘Coming Along Wonderfully’

iPassword on Windows 7

According to the good folks at Agile Web Solutions, development on the Windows version of their superb 1Password app is ‘coming along wonderfully’. In the latest beta version of it, Dropbox syncing is fully functional.

1Password has been my favorite and my essential password manager / secure wallet app on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad for a long time now. A solid Windows app (not for my needs, but for that handful of folks out there who run Windows) used to be one of its very few weak points. It sounds like that is just not the case anymore.

eWallet for Mac Launched

eWalletMac

eWallet for Mac is available as of today.  This has been a long while coming and will be a real sight for sore eyes for a lot of fans of eWallet.  For those who don’t know the app, it is one of the leading secure password manager apps on the iPhone and across a number of mobile platforms.

It is hugely well-respected, has won numerous awards for best app in its category, and is a feature-packed wallet application.  It’s one big missing piece until today (for those of us who use a Mac) was the lack of a Mac desktop client – and I’m very happy to see that can now be crossed off the eWallet wish list.

1Password Pro Updated – Adds Cloud Sync via Dropbox

1Password Pro syncs with Dropbox

1Password can now sync automatically using Dropbox!

Also known as “syncing to the cloud”, this amazing feature allows you to keep your Mac, Windows, and iOS devices in sync at all times, even when they are running on different networks. (Yes, I did say Windows; 1Password for Windows is currently in beta testing)

Oh boy – this is some fantastic update news. 1Password Pro – the excellent password manager app for iPad, iPhone, and desktop – has been recently updated, and has added the ability to sync to ‘the cloud’ via Dropbox.

1Password and Dropbox are two of my most favorite and essential apps – across desktop, iPad, and iPhone.  Putting the two of them together is like a chocolate + peanut butter moment times 100.

1Password Pro Updated, Now Includes iPad Version

1Password Pro for iPad

The latest version of 1Password Pro hit the App Store the other night – and it includes its iPad specific version as part of the package.  I’ve been using 1Password Pro on my MacBook and my iPhones for a long while now – it has performed great and is now an essential app for me.

I waited for this 1Password Pro update, as it provided the new iPad version of the app to existing owners for free – a very nice thing to see.  The app itself looks great on my iPad – just as expected after seeing some of its pre-release mockups.

I’ll have more to say soon on 1Password Pro on the iPad – but for now I’m just very glad to see an old friend on my shiny new toy / workhorse.

Great news from Agile Web Solutions today – they have got their 1Password for iPad updates submitted to Apple within the deadline for being in the iPad App Store on launch day.  So if it doesn’t hit any Apple review roadblocks, it should be in the store for Day 1.

The pricing for 1Password for iPad is $6.99 – but the options for 1Password Pro and existing users of it and their cost for the new app get a little confusing (to me anyway).  Hit the jump for details …

1Password Coming to the iPad – and Looking Very Nice

1Password on iPad

I hope it comes as no surprise that we’re planning, plotting, and otherwise scheming to bring 1Password to the iPad in a big way.

OK, so maybe I’m not surprised, but I am very happy to see this news.  1Password is one of my essential apps now on both the iPhone and my Mac laptop.  And even though the screenshots shared at the 1Password blog site are only design mockups, I have to say they’re looking pretty sweet. Another great example of how iPad apps are going to shine I think.
