There have been reports talking about new iPad Pros with Mini-LED displays for over a year now, so a new one is no surprise. However, there’s a little more than that to this particular story.
As for Mini-LED, those new iPad Pros were supposed to arrive sometime this year. However, as we all know, COVID happened and pretty much everything in 2020 has been affected in one way or another. A delayed iPad is the least of them in the grand scheme, but it’s what I cover here, so here we go.
Courtesy of a couple of reports from Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPad Pro has re-joined the Apple rumor carousel. It seems that the company and it’s manufacturing partners are having some success getting Mini-LED ready for prime time, and the iPad Pro may be the first device to benefit from that. Well, sort of.

Some new reports of the potential upcoming iPad Pros surfaced yesterday. MySmartPrice and noted device leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as Steve H on Twitter, posted a render of the supposed new 12.9″ iPad Pro based on earlier CAD design leaks. I say supposed because both sources are clear that they aren’t 100% sure about this information.
