Rightside Up- Apple’s Stock Price Quickly Goes From Bust Back to Boom

What a difference a week can make. Last weekend, the pessimism was flowing as everyone just knew Apple was going to get theirs on Tuesday. Earnings would be down, iPhone sales would be down overall, the X would be confirmed as a “flop,” and all of the tech press and analyst predictions would be confirmed. Only it didn’t quite go as many in the tech and financial communities thought it would.

We Have the Proof- Supply Chain Sources Can’t Tell How Well the iPhone Sells

Since the third quarter of last year didn’t cast enough doubt on using sources in the supply chain to predict iPhone sales, maybe their latest abysmal failure will. We should be able to put it to bed now, and any analyst or tech writer worth their salt should, too. Tim Cook, the master of the supply chain, knows what he is doing, and the bought and paid for sources at Foxconn, Samsung, and other component makers don’t, at least when it comes to Apple’s iPhones sales.

Tuesday Will Tell the Tale of Apple Stock and Hardware Success

We’ve had a progressive amount of hand wringing and reading of supply chain tea leaves, all leading up to Apple’s 2nd Quarter Earnings Report, which hits tomorrow. Most of the news has been negative, especially anything regarding the iPhone X and HomePod. However, it seems that there are now some who expect Apple’s stock to weather the storm and rebound based on better than expected sales and numbers elsewhere. If they are correct, Apple could make back the over 9% its stock has lost over the past month very quickly. If not, it will be interesting to see if it slides more or just stabilizes.

Find My iPhone Seems Trivial Until the Day You Really Need It

I say that Find My iPhone seems trivial until you need thanks to freshly gained experience. Before, it used to be a nice feature that was really handy for tracking down the kids’ devices when they misplaced them in the house or left them out in the car. Before yesterday, the only time I had to use it to track down something that was really lost was when my daughter left my wife’s iPhone 5 sitting on the trunk of my car one Summer night.

The iPhone X Racks Up a 97% Customer Satisfaction Rate in Recent Survey

For all of the recent hand-wringing over whether the iPhone X is or isn’t selling, it still has an enormous impact on the smartphone market. First, we saw all but three or four Android manufacturers blatantly rip off the X’s signature notch earlier this year, but without the Face ID tech that truly sets it apart. Now we have a new survey from market research firm Creative Strategies that shows the iPhone X holding up quite well among those who have purchased one.

The iPhone X is No More Dead Than the iPhone 5 Was

The only thing the tech press loves more than good Apple news and device rumors is bad Apple news. I guess this just is the tech equivalent of “if it bleeds, it leads.” And when it comes to bad news about Apple sales, it is usually an analyst of one sort or another that is lighting the match that starts the fire.

Apple Releases (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8, iPhone X Folio Case

In the grand scheme of Apple releases, today’s is merely a blip on the radar. However, the release of the PRODUCT(RED) iPhones 8 and 8 Plus do extend the pattern of mid-year color additions to the iPhone line to a second year. If you recall, Apple released RED versions of the iPhones 7 and 7 Plus around the same time last year.

Analyst Predicts the Fall 2018 iPhone Lineup Price Points

While several reputable Apple prognosticators, including both Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo, have predicted that we will see three new iPhone models in the Fall, now we have a price prediction that I think makes a lot of sense to go with them. Amit Daryanani, an analyst with RBC Capital, has made an interesting prediction about the new price points for the three devices that will replace the current iPhone X.

Are the Leaked iPhone SE 2 and the Coming LCD iPhone X Variation the Same Device?

Japanese leaks and rumors site Macokatara is at it again. Today, the people who gave us the first indication that the headphone jack was being removed from the iPhone 7 posted a video of an iPhone they refer to as the iPhone SE 2. This isn’t the first we’ve heard of a coming refresh of the SE, as Ming-Chi Kuo reported on this over a month ago. However, the phone in this video is nothing like what Kuo predicted.
