Apple finally sent out the invites today, and Tuesday, October 30 is the day. The event is being held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn New York. While this announcement has been the worst kept secret in tech since the iPhone event wrapped with no iPad news, the date is probably the least interesting part of this announcement and invite. The iPhones XS, XS Max, and XR and the Apple Watch Series 4 weren’t all that was announced today. There were just a few other morsels that Tim Cook briefly covered at the end of the event. Continue reading
If are an Apple fan, then you know there are two primary events per year that we all look forward to. The first is WWDC. The second is the announcement of the new iPhones. Well, now it’s time for big day number two. Apple’s livestream on their site and via Twitter will break news of their latest new smartphones, as well as a few other items in real time. Tune in at 10 AM Pacific to catch all the action live.

Leading things off is Bloomberg’s Marc Gurman, Mr Old Reliable when it comes to Apple info. He has fresh information on some of Apple’s new hardware coming this Fall. First off, he confirms that a new low-cost MacBook is coming, as has been expected for a while now. Despite plenty of previous rumors and reports, it’s nice to get confirmation from someone with a real track record.
It’s been an unexpectedly busy couple of days in Apple news. First off, Apple released an updated version of the MacBook Pro yesterday. These new 2018 versions have new Intel processors, more RAM, better screens, and a “quieter” keyboard. Unfortunately, Apple has not mentioned any design changes to the keyboard based on the number of complaints of failures due to dirt and grit getting under the keys. While a specific mention of this could be problematic for Apple due to ongoing litigation over this issue, the feeling around the industry is that this version of the keyboard will not be a significant improvement.
