We all know that Apple Silicon laptops are coming soon. Apple let that cat partially out of the bag during the WWDC Keynote, but we’ve also seen several leaks since then detailing what we’re getting and when. As I mentioned last night, Jon Prosser just weighed in this weekend, saying that the 13.3″ MacBook Pro will be the first to hit the market. I also discussed a rumor from leaker @Komiya_kj on Twitter talking about an October release date.
If the rumors are true, we will finally be getting some details from Apple regarding one of the longest running predictions for their hardware- the ARM Mac. Several sources have reported about this one for some time, but Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has the scoop that Apple will pull the curtain back on the beginning of this new act at WWDC. Moving macOS to their own A-Series ARM chip architecture is the company’s biggest technological leap in a while and this sounds like the perfect time and place to kick it off. Continue reading
