When it Comes to Apple and 5G, Healthy Skepticism is Still Warranted

We see another classic repetitive cycle playing out in Apple supply chain and analyst-driven news right now. Last year, Bloomberg relayed a note from Northland analyst Gus Richard saying that Apple may pass on using Intel 5G modems in 2020 because they won’t be ready in time. Now Fast Company claims to have inside sources reporting that Apple IS passing on Intel and that they have doubled down on producing their own 5G modem.

The iPad Mini May Not Be As Dead As I Thought

Based on a recent update from noted Apple leaker Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s iPad Mini may turn out to be the vampire of the company’s mobile hardware lineup. I had completely given up hope of anymore updates or refreshes, but it seems that you just can’t kill this thing. According to many of you who have contacted me about the Mini over the last year, that is a good thing.

Analyst Predicts the Fall 2018 iPhone Lineup Price Points

While several reputable Apple prognosticators, including both Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo, have predicted that we will see three new iPhone models in the Fall, now we have a price prediction that I think makes a lot of sense to go with them. Amit Daryanani, an analyst with RBC Capital, has made an interesting prediction about the new price points for the three devices that will replace the current iPhone X.
