Webex for iPad – Cisco’s iPad app that lets you attend Webex online meetings on your favorite tablet – is the App Store’s iPad App of the Week this week. It has also just had an update on iPad 2 launch day to support group video conferencing on the iPad 2. Here’s what’s new in the newest version 2.5 of the app:
– Experience 2-way group video conferencing like never before, now on the iPad 2!
– With audio, content sharing, chat, and 2-way real-time group video
– Preview self-video before starting
– Group video conferencing in full screen with self-view as picture-in-picture
– Video switches dynamically based on who’s talking
Very good news for corporate iPad users. Here’s an App Store link for Webex for iPad; it’s a free app.
WebEx for iPad brings Cisco’s industry-leading web and video conferencing app to our favorite tablet device. And Cisco are more than a little proud of their iPad app, and impressed with the iPad.
The app was released on the App Store last week, and has a slew of strong features including: high-quality multi-stream video conferencing, zoom into video, toggle between video and shared content, and the ability to host meetings. Here’s some of what Cisco has to say about it:
“Way Cool. There is no other way I can describe our new WebEx for the iPad app version 2.0 that is available as of today from the Apple App Store,” trills Cisco’s David Knight.
“It is quite simply the best experience we have delivered in my eight years here at Cisco WebEx,” says Knight.
That last line is a hell of a good testimonial for the iPad. Cisco’s enthusiasm for the iPad is yet another sign of the device’s growing momentum in the enterprise space.
