The Popular Droplr file sahring service now has an iPad app. The Droplr iPhone app was updated last week and is now a universal app, designed for both iPhone and iPad.
Droplr is one of the best free online file sharing services I’ve used. It’s fast on uploads and offers 1GB of free storage space. Pro accounts are available at $4/month or $40/year – and these offer 100GB of storage , uploads up to 1GB, no ads, and a few other benefits. I’ve had a free account for some time, but may consider upgrading if I start using it a lot more via the new iPad app.
Here’s a little of the App Store intro for the Droplr app:
Droplr for iPhone and iPad is the easiest way to share images, documents, files & links on the go.
Simply tap the add button to upload a photo, shorten a link or create a note. Droplr will let you know when it has been uploaded and copy a link to your clipboard that you can paste in to emails, instant messages, Twitter, Facebook, etc…
Droplr provides handy shortcuts to email the link, post it to Twitter, copy it again or delete a drop right from your drops list.
Droplr for iPhone and iPad is the companion app to the Droplr service which includes a web-based application to manage all your drops and both a Windows and Mac app designed as the easiest sharing tool on the desktop.
I installed the iPad app last week and it looks good. It’s got a basic UI that makes it easy to upload and share items, and to manage your previous uploads.
Dropbox is my most heavily used all-round online file service, but Droplr can be quite handy for quickly sharing a file with someone and it’s always good to have more options for file sharing on the iPad.
Here’s an App Store link for Droplr; it’s a free app.
