The Google+ app for iPad and iOS has been updated today, to Version 3.2. The list of new features in this update is not long, but it does include a couple of big user wish list items.
The ability to edit posts is the first of those and iPad users also get the ability to search for people and posts. The update also adds support for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5, and allows Google+ page owners to sign in as their page and view and comment.
I have a Google+ page for iPad Insight as well as my personal account, so I’ve been giving all these new features a quick try since installing the update a short while ago.
The new abilities to edit posts and search for posts or people all seem to work well for me so far, though unless I’m missing something you do have to use two different search areas for people and posts. Here are a few screencaps of these new bits of functionality in the app:
It’s very nice to have the ability to use the app with my own account or my site page, but the method for switching between the two is pretty clumsy right now. I have to sign all the way out of the app via its Settings area, then sign back in and choose which account to use. Hopefully there will be a quicker, slicker way to do this in future.
I spend more and more time on Google+ these days and find I’m enjoying it more and more as well. Most of my time is spent on my Mac, but now the Google+ iPad app is growing on me and I can see my time spent on G+ just continuing to increase.
What do you all think of this latest update to the Google+ app?
