The YouTube app for iPad and iOS was updated yesterday, to Version 2.0. The change list for this update is very short, but it’s lead by one quite notable new feature – the ability to watch a video while searching for another one.
This new feature is a lot like picture-in-picture on a TV, and it works really nicely in the iPad app. Just a gentle swipe down while watching a video sends it down to the bottom right of the screen and out of the way while you search and browse for other videos.
Here’s the one other new feature mentioned in the change list for YouTube 2.0 for iOS:
* Search for playlists and use the “play all” button for endless entertainment
It’s good to see Google continuing to improve the iOS YouTube app ever since it got back into the App Store.
