At the Hotel Bel-Air in the Bel-Air section of Los Angeles an In-room iPad is listed as a key technology feature of the guest experience. For now, the iPad is being used by guests to order room service, as USA Today reports.
Since adding the iPad to rooms the hotel has found that 75% of guests are now choosing to use it to order room service – and showing a faster takeup rate on this service than the hotel expected. Future uses of the iPad may include letting guests use it to book facials and massage services and ordering from the hotel’s retail shop.
iPads were rolled out along with other state-of-the-art tech features – like ‘above-average internet bandwidth’ and Bang & Olufsen flat-screen TVs – when the hotel reopened last October after a major renovation.
Hotels are yet another area where the iPad seems to be gaining momentum.
