Quick Look – Case-mate iPad 2 Esquire Keyboard Case

iPad2EsquireKeyboardCase

A couple of iPad 2 keyboard cases have caught my eye recently. The first of them is the iPad 2 Esquire from Case-mate. I’ve already tried out (and still own) a couple of other keyboard cases for the iPad 2. Two things about the iPad 2 Esquire appealed to me – the sift leather used on the case (as opposed to the hard covers used on my other two keyboard cases), and the magnetic tab closure.

Here’s a little intro on the case and its key features, via its Case-mate product page:

You’re always in sync with the Esquire Bluetooth® Keyboard iPad 2 case. The leather case connects the iPad 2 to the included keyboard with wireless Bluetooth® technology.
Essentially turning the iPad 2 into an instant laptop, the refined case is ideal for working on-the-go. The Bluetooth® keyboard, which resembles a laptop style keyboard, is seamlessly attached to the case and connects wirelessly to the iPad 2.

  • Bluetooth® keyboard iPad 2 portfolio case
  • Genuine black pebbled leather
  • Full keyboard with plastic keys
  • Magnetic closure to secure the case shut
  • Up to 90 hours of battery life

Case-mate’s iPad 2 Esquire Keyboard Case Looks Good

iPad2Esquire

Here’s an iPad 2 accessory that caught my eye this week – the Esquire Bluetooth Keyboard iPad 2 Case from Case-mate. Here’s a bit of its description from Case-mate:

You’re always in sync with the Esquire Bluetooth® Keyboard iPad 2 case. The leather case connects the iPad 2 to the included keyboard with wireless Bluetooth® technology.
Essentially turning the iPad 2 into an instant laptop, the refined case is ideal for working on-the-go. The Bluetooth® keyboard, which resembles a laptop style keyboard, is seamlessly attached to the case and connects wirelessly to the iPad 2. Recharge with the included USB cord for up to 90 hours of continuous use. The portfolio style case features premium, genuine black pebble leather and a magnetic closure to secure the case shut. The iPad cover includes an ideal viewing angle, perfect for travel or the boardroom.

There are a large number of keyboard cases for the iPad 2 available now, but this one appeals to me for three reasons:

— It’s got a leather case, rather than the hard cover style cases I see on most of these.

— I much prefer a magnetic closure to clasps and similar methods.

— The keyboard is touted as a full,  near laptop-style model.

In fact I liked the sound of this enough to order one, which I did yesterday. So I’ll soon have some thoughts to share on how well this case lives up to the hype.

In the meantime, you can see more information on it or place an order at the Case-mate product page for it: http://bit.ly/AtwH2p

ZAGGfolio iPad 2 Keyboard Case Now Available in a Range of Colors

ZAGGfolioColor

ZAGGfolioColors

I’ve been using a ZAGGfolio iPad 2 keyboard case for a few months now, and I like it a lot. So I was interested to see that ZAGG are now offering a range of colors for the ZAGGfolio.

You can now get the folio (the case) in a choice of 11 colors, including Dark Blue, Metallic Red, Smart Green, Smart Orange, and more. You can also choose a keyboard color – silver, black, or white.

If you choose to order Folio and Keyboard it will run you $99.99. If you want just the folio, it’s $29.99.  I just ordered a blue one.

My favorite thing about the ZAGGfolio for iPad 2 is its excellent keyboard. It’s the nicest one I’ve seen yet for one of the case + keyboard combos. It has great spacing between the keys and is very comfortable to type on.

At $100 and with a range of colors to choose from, I’d say this is a good deal with a high quality iPad 2 keyboard case if you happen to be looking for one.

ClamCase The Trooper iPad 2 Keyboard Case – First Impressions

ClamCase The Trooper iPad 2 keyboard case

The Trooper – the latest limited edition iPad 2 Keyboard Case from ClamCase – has got some rave reviews  as one of the iPad keyboard cases on the market.

I just got mine a few days ago, but I thought I’d share some early notes and impressions on it. Here they are in no particular order, sort of a stream of consciousness while getting to know it:

— It feels much lighter than I expected this type of accessory to feel. That’s mostly a good thing, although it also makes it feel a little less solid than I expected, including at times when typing (it feels a little wobbly).

— It doesn’t feel terribly ‘Apple-like’ to me initially – not elegant at all in its look and feel.
