I wrote about the back and forth on potential iPad Mini designs a few times earlier this year (here, here, and here). At the time, it was rumored that a new Mini would be released along with the new iPad Pro sometime in March. Well, March came and went, the iPad Pro was delayed until May, and a new Mini never arrived. That’s the Apple leak and rumor game in a nutshell, I guess.
Thanks to a couple of fresh reports from reliable sources, now a new Mini is back in the game for later this year.

There have been a few rumors over the last month covering a new iPad Mini that’s slated to arrive in 2021. Early reports predicted a design closer to the iPad Pro and new iPad Air, but the most recent ones are predicting a more modest design upgrade to the iPad Air 3 design language.

I’ll start off by saying that I usually have no interest in concept drawings or videos of potential future Apple products. So often they have little basis in reality, so I guess I fail to understand the point. There are enough leaks that often come far in advance of the release of new Apple hardware, so I just gravitate toward the real, or at least what leakers thinks will be real.
However, sometimes an effective concept can point out some interesting possibilities for a new device. Such is the case for a new one that was posted yesterday.
