It looks like Things – the superb task manager app for the iPad (and iPhone and Mac) – will soon be getting an update for its iPad edition, to Version 1.1.
I just spotted the tweet shown above – from Cultured Code, the developers of Things – a short while ago. As you can hopefully see in the screencap, the update has already been submitted for Apple’s approval and it will add the ability to manage areas of responsibility, and create mixed projects, as well as an improved move dialog and some bug fixes.
Things is one of my favorite and most used apps on both desktop (laptop really) and mobile devices, so it’s good to see continued enhancements to it.
I just noticed this tweet in amongst all the iOS 4 and World Cup talk. That looks like good news for those awaiting an iPad compatible version of the Pocket Informant (PI) app.
PI is a leading tasks and calendar management for the iPhone and many other mobile platforms. I’m sure it will be a strong and popular app on the iPad as well, and it sounds like we don’t have much longer to wait before we see it.
Todo for iPad is a great looking and full-featured to-do app for the iPad and iPhone, with good desktop and online sync options …
I’m a huge fan of to-do apps. I rely heavily on task lists to manage my work and even much of my life in general. Todo for iPad is the first task manager app that has really caught my eye in quite a while, as I already have a solution that works very well for me in this area (Things).
I liked the look and sound of the app so much when I saw its iPad version released, that I’ve been trying it out for a couple of days.
Finally, one other arrival that is approaching very quickly is the iPad version of Things. We’ll have more to share with you about it once April 3rd gets closer, so stay tuned. :)
That’s the final line in a post today at Cultured Code’s Things Blog, covering various arrivals at the company.
Things is one of my most-used and most favorite apps on both the Mac desktop and the iPhone. A true essential for me – so I am very happy to see that an iPad version is coming in the not-too-distant future. It sounds like we should be hearing more details on this quite soon as well, since April 3rd is now less than three weeks away. I’d love to see Things for iPad make it into the App Store on Day 1.
