If you’re more than an occasional visitor to this site, you know that I’m a huge fan of the Pimp Your Screen iPad wallpapers app. It gets a mention and a credit in a large number of my Weekend iPad Wallpapers posts.
Today Pimp Your Screen has been updated – to Version 1.9. The big new feature in this update is the ability to add and edit text when creating a custom iPad lock screen background. Here’s the change list detail for this new version:
– New Lock Screen Themes: you can now add and edit text while customizing lock screen themes. Choose from beautiful fonts, various sizes and vivid colors.
– Performance and stability improvements
I think this new feature will be lots of fun to use, and will certainly allow us to create even more personalized lock screen wallpapers for our iPads. This has been my favorite iPad wallpapers app for as long as I can remember, and it’s great to see it continuing to add fun new features.
Here’s an App Store link for Pimp Your Screen; it’s priced at $0.99 and is a universal app designed for both iPad and iPhone.
If you’re after some truly stunning and unique images to use as iPad wallpapers, then you’re going to want to take a look at Trey Ratcliff’s Wallpaper Menagerie.
Ratclif is a world-renowned travel photographer. He runs the immensely popular travel photography blog, stuckinicustoms.com, and one of his photos is the first ever HDR photo to hang in the Smithstonian. He’s famous not just for his incredible photography but also for his tutorials and knowledge sharing.
And his Wallpaper Menagerie app is full of amazing photos for use as iPad wallpapers. This is definitely an iPad wallpapers app that is all about quality not quantity. You get 17 images free with the app, 10 of them in the Starter Pack and 7 more in a pack called Beautiful Landscapes. The starter pack is included in the app and the Beautiful Landscapes pack can be downloaded for free within the app.
Pimp Your Screen – the best iPad wallpapers app I’ve come across – has been updated this week, to Version 1.3. The update adds multitasking support, so you can exit and return to right where you left off in the app, the ability to share wallpapers via Facebook, Twitter, Tmblr and email, and a few other general imporvements.
The big new addition though is a new feature called Home Screen Maker. This lets you make use of your own images from the photo library in tandem with the app’s icon and app shelves skins.
I did a review of 3D Wallpaper Pro for iPad a few weeks ago, and was quite impressed with the app.
Back then you got two free wallpaper packs for the iPad, with 50 in each – and there were sixe more packs available via In-App purchase for $0.99 each.
This week the app has been updated, to Version 1.1 – and now all of its eight wallpaper packs are unlocked and available for free within the app, a total of around 400 great looking HD walls for your iPad.
If you’re on the lookout for some handsome and unique iPad wallpapers, you’ll want to give this 99 cent app a look. Here’s an App Store link for 3D Wallpaper Pro.
3D Wallpaper Pro is a brand new app for the iPad featuring a collection of stunning 3D images for use as iPad wallpapers.
I’m always on the lookout for great iPad wallpapers, so of course this app caught my eye when it was released earlier this week. I made a not of it when I got an email about it from its developer and got a chance to install it today. Hit the jump for quite a few screencaps from the app and my quick review of it …
Pimp Your Screen is an iPad (and iOS devices) wallpapers app. There are a number of these around, some of them quite good – but this is far and away the best I’ve seen yet.
Most wallpaper apps, and online collections, offer lots of walls in categories like architecture, cityscapes, animals, celebrities, ‘babes’ and similar. Pimp Your Screen has none of these, so depending on your tastes the app may not be for you. What it does have is an excellent and broad selection of abstract walls – featuring some amazing, creative, and fun images. Some of them are too busy for my taste (at least for home screen use) but lots of them are striking, interesting, and good candidates for use on both home and lock screens.
If you’re looking for some great wallpaper choices for your iPad or iPhone, this is an app you may well want to take a look at. It’s called Sciphone Wallpapers and it offers over 9,000 wallpapers in a wide range of categories.
The Sciphone.net wallpapers site has been a favorite of mine for iPhone wallpapers for quite a while, and I was delighted to see their app hit the App Store recently.
